Sir,
12.3.35.
I have the honour to enclose a copy of a letter
which we have received from the Government of Hong Kong
regarding the recruitment of six Police Constables and to
enquire whether the Secretary of State approves of our
filling these vacancies in conjunction with Mr. T. H. King,
Acting Inspector General. If so, we propose to select
candidates without previous Colonial service, unless there
are any retrenched Officers other than those mentioned in
your semi-official letter of the 29th September, 1933,
whom you wish us to consider.
